How to Add P/R Tax Code in Hardhat


P/R Tax Code Maintenance is used to update the tax rates for Counties, Cities, or Local. If the County, City, or Local Payroll tax is to be deducted from your employee's Paycheck, you must set up the appropriate tax rates.

Menu Option

***Note : Before processing the first payroll of a new year, the tax rates should be updated.

State/ County / City / Local

In the first field, enter the STATE number. You can click on the button box with the three dots to display a list of states by State number, County number, City number, or local number. Double-click on a State number, County number, City number, or Local number to select.

If you are setting up a County, enter the State and County numbers, then tab through the City and Local fields, and enter a Description (i.e. SHELBY COUNTY).

If you are setting up a City, enter the State, County, and City numbers, and you can tab through the next field, and enter the Description (i.e. CITY OF MEMPHIS).

If you are setting up a Local Payroll Tax, you need to enter the State, County, and City numbers and enter a Description (i.e. LOCAL SCHOOL DISCTRICT TAX).

Tax Rate

Enter the Tax Rate for the selected County, City, or Local.

Save

Click on Save to update the tax rate for the selected County, City, or Local.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

<< Prev: Click on this feature if you want to access the previous County, City, or Local.

>>Next: Click this feature if you want to access the next County, City , or Local.

Print: Select this feature to print a list of all the Counties, Cities, and Locals that have been set up.

Delete: Click on Delete to delete the selected County, City, or Local tax rate.

Cancel: Click this feature to cancel and return to the Main Menu.
